In the old days (and larger, national brands still hold to this) it was recommended that a company allot 10% (or more) of their annual revenue to marketing. That is a big number to swallow, for any company, and it may be out of reach for you at this time. We tell people to find a number between 3% and 7% and start there. Remember, Marketing is an INVESTMENT , not an EXPENSE. And just like any other investment, you get back what you put in. So, look at your annual revenue from last year, figure out what percentage you can feasibly allot for marketing, and start setting it aside every month. *

Since no brand exists at this point, it is imperative to front-load marketing and make it a priority in order to have a public face to reach your intended target audience with your product or service.
